Σύμφωνα με δηλώσεις του Jason Bateman (Juno) οι δημιουργοί της σειράς Arrested Development.,
Ron Howard και Mitch Hurwitz βρίσκονται σε συζητήσεις για τη δημιουργία μιας μεγάλου μήκους ταινίας.
 
Η υπόθεση της κωμικής σειράς περιστρέφεται γύρω από μια δυσλειτουργική οικογένεια και παρότι είχε λάβει εξαιρετικές κριτικές και σχόλια, διακόπηκε από το κανάλι που την πρόβαλε το 2006, λόγω χαμηλής τηλεθέασης.

Στη σειρά πρωταγωνιστούσαν ακόμη οι Portia de Rossi (Ally McBeal), Will Arnett (Knight Rider), Michael Cera (Juno, Superbad).

Η dream team του Τζάρμους!



Μπιλ Μάρει, Γκαέλ Γκαρσία Μπερνάλ , Χαβιέ Μπαρδέμ, Τίλντα Σουίντον, Ζανγκ Ζίγι, Ρόμαν Πολάνσκι, Ζαν Φρανσουά Στεβενάν, Ισαάκ Ντε Μπανκόλ.. Όχι όλο αυτό δεν είναι παραλήρημα, αλλά η dream team της καινούριας ταινίας του Τζιμ Τζάρμους, «Limits of Control» που θα έχει αέρα ισπανικό αφού θα γυριστεί σε Μαδρίτη, Σεβίλλη και Αλμερία.

Το «Limits of control» θα είναι ένα θριλερικό road movie για έναν μυστικοπαθή, μοναχικό τύπο που εμπλέκεται σε ένα έγκλημα. Μέχρι εκεί φτάνουν οι πληροφορίες των κατασκόπων όσο κι αν τους "βασανίσαμε" να ομολογήσουν τα πάντα.

Ο Τζάρμους εκτός από τη σκηνοθεσία, είναι ένοχος και για το σενάριο και αυτό το μήνα θ’ αρχίσει ο χορός των γυρισμάτων. Ο κορυφαίος του χορού θα είναι ο Ισαάκ Ντε Μπανκόλ, τον οποίο αν είσαι Τζάρμους-μάνιακ θα θυμάσαι από τα «Night on Earth», «Ghost Dog: Ο τρόπος των Σαμουράι» και «Καφές και τσιγάρα».
Επίσης είναι η τρίτη (και φαρμακερή;) συνεργασία με τον Μάρει («Τσακισμένα λουλούδια», «Καφές και τσιγάρα») και η δεύτερη με τη Τίλντα Σουίντον, μετά τα λουλούδια που τσακίσανε. Οι υπόλοιποι από την πολυεθνική ομάδα που αναφέρονται από πάνω, εκτός από τους ταλαντούχους (ναι εννοείται και ωραίους) κύριο Γκαέλ Γκαρσία Μπερνάλ και κυρία Ζανγκ Ζίγι, θα κάνουν cameo εμφανίσεις.

Η έκφραση "make my day" νομίζουμε βρήκε εφαρμογή..

Actor Paul Scofield Dies at 86


 Paul Scofield, the imperious British actor of stage and screen who won an Oscar for his portrayal of Sir Thomas More in A Man for All Seasons, died Wednesday; he was 86. Scofield, who passed away at a hospital near his home in southern England, had been suffering from leukemia. Scofield began his acting career onstage, where it would always be centered, and he found his first successes in taking on a variety of Shakespearean roles during and after World War II. His towering presence and amazing performances quickly drew comparison to fellow thespian Laurence Olivier. While continuing his theater work, Scofield began appearing in a handful of films in the 1950s and early 1960s, most notably the John Frankenheim thriller The Train. In fact, he had only three films to his credit when he was asked to reprise his celebrated role as Sir Thomas More in the 1966 film adaptation of A Man for All Seasons, directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Fred Zinnemann. The story of King Henry VIII's Chancellor of England, who refused to go along with the monarch's break from the Roman Catholic Church and was executed for it, the film was a sumptuous adaptation of the Robert Bolt play and a critical and commercial success, winning six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Director and Actor for Scofield.

Despite his acclaimed Oscar success, the actor continued to work mainly in the theater, with occasional forays into cinema, primarily in stage-to-film adaptations; notable films in the 1970s included Peter Brook's version of King Lear and Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance opposite Katharine Hepburn. Scofield found the second role of a lifetime in the stage production of Amadeus, where he played the tortured and envious composer Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham would win an Oscar for the role in the 1984 film). Considered reclusive, a trait he would deny in many interviews, he hand-picked his film roles very carefully, appearing in Kenneth Branagh's Henry V and Frano Zeffirelli's Hamlet, and he received a second Oscar nomination, this time for Best Supporting Actor, for Robert Redford's Quiz Show. His last major film role was in 1996's The Crucible, which won him his third BAFTA award. Scofield is survived by his wife, the actress Joy Parker, whom he married in 1943, and their two children, Martin and Sarah.

Actor Richard Widmark Dies at 93

Richard Widmark, the actor whose menacing portrayals in numerous film noir thrillers made him synonymous with the genre, died Monday at age 93. According to news reports, the actor passed away at his home in Roxbury, CT after a long illness. Widmark appeared on both radio and the stage before making one of the most auspicious -- and audacious -- debuts in film history as the giggling killer Tommy Udo, a man who pushes an old lady in a wheelchair down a flight of stairs, in the 1947 thriller Kiss of Death; the film earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, a Golden Globe for New Star Of The Year, and a contract with 20th Century Fox. His portrayals of hard-boiled men, sometimes criminals, sometimes just plain amoral, made him an instant star, and he played villains in The Street with No Name, Road House, and Yellow Sky. He notoriously menaced Marilyn Monroe in Don't Bother to Knock, played a racist criminal in No Way Out, and was a pickpocket caught up in a Communist spy ring in Pickup on South Street. Widmark proved he could also play against type as a doctor tracking down a killer infected with the bubonic plague in Panic in the Streets, and a doomed con man in Jules Dassin's Night and the City. The actor worked consistently throughout his career, adding Westerns to his repertoire with roles in Broken Lance, The Alamo, Cheyenne Autumn (directed by John Ford), and How the West Was Won, and appeared in the Oscar-winning Judgment at Nuremberg as well. He segued into television in the 1970s as Madigan (based on his 1968 film of the same name, directed by Don Siegel), and received an Emmy nomination for 1972's Vanished, where he played the President of the United States with a secret to hide. Other notable films during the 1970s and 1980s included Murder on the Orient Express, The Domino Principle, Coma, and the film noir update Against All Odds; his last role was in the 1991 political drama True Colors, after which he retired from filmmaking. Widmark is survived by his second wife, Susan Blanchard, and his daughter, Anne, from his first marriage to screenwriter Jean Hazlewood, who died in 1997

Σε τρία χρόνια φυλάκιση, για το αδίκημα της φοροδιαφυγής, καταδικάστηκε ο διάσημος ηθοποιός Γουέσλι Σνάιπς. Αγνωστο, πάντως, παραμένει το πότε ο διάσημος ηθοποιός θα πρέπει να παραδοθεί στις αρχές.

Οι συνήγοροί του, οι οποίοι θα καταθέσουν έφεση, είχαν ζητήσει να μην καταδικαστεί σε φυλάκιση, αλλά να τεθεί υπό επιτήρηση.

Τον περασμένο Φεβρουάριο ο πρωταγωνιστής του Blade είχε καταδικαστεί για παράλειψη καταβολής φόρων επί πέντε χρόνια. Ωστόσο, είχε αθωωθεί από τις κατηγορίες της φορολογικής απάτης και της υποβολής ψευδούς δήλωσης.

Την Πέμπτη, όμως, δικαστήριο στη Φλόριντα τον καταδίκασε σε τρία χρόνια φυλάκιση.

Σύμφωνα με το BBC, εκτός από την οικογένειά του, στο πλευρό του τάχθηκαν από την πρώτη στιγμή οι συνεργάτες του, αλλά και διάσημοι φίλοι του, όπως ο Ντένζελ Γουάσινγκτον και ο Γούντι Χάρελσον, οι οποίοι μάλιστα απέστειλαν «συστατικές» επιστολές στο δικαστήριο.

Το γεγονός αυτό όμως δεν έπεισε τον δικαστή, ο οποίος υποστήριξε ότι λόγω του ονόματός του ο Σνάιπς έπρεπε να δίνει το... καλό παράδειγμα.

90210 centers on a three-generation Beverly Hills family and will air this Fall. Original cast member Jennie Garth, 36, has signed on for a recurring role, reprising the part of Kelly Taylor. This time around, she will play a guidance counselor at her alma mater, West Beverly High.
