New Nolan third installment of his Batman Saga rumor...

Hey folks, Harry here at 30,000 feet flying from Chicago to Austin! Love Wifi on planes! Now you may have noticed the DVD COLUMN is not up today. I've been doing extensive travel recently - and just haven't had the time to write it, but when I get home I'm going to start cracking at it.

Though none of that is why you clicked on this story. When I realized that I could write and post a story from the sky - I knew that this story that I kinda stumbled into on this bout of travel... well, it's the sort of thing that is so potentially cool - if it happens. I have to say upfront that the nature of this story is a rumor, not because I don't have solid sources, I do... but because it could simply NOT WORK OUT. That happens sometimes. It is something that the production team are "considering" - but it is an extremely costly process, but one that I believe we would all love to see happen.

The THIRD chapter of Christopher Nolan's Caped Crusader's saga could very well be FULLY shot in IMAX, not IMAX Digital - but the beautiful, stunning IMAX that we saw pieces of THE DARK KNIGHT in.

Now this is something that I'm sure a lot of you will feel is a no-brainer. Nolan blew us away with the IMAX sequences in that film - but it was a very tough process to work in. Mainly due to the limitations of how many available real IMAX rigs there are. Not only that, but lenses had to be created, adapted and god forbid one broke down. Part of the reason that Nolan went forward with INCEPTION first - besides taking a creative break from the cape and cowl adventures... was possibly to create a few new IMAX cameras made to his specs. Once again - the cost of shooting an entire feature film on IMAX... the stock, the time it takes to reset, to load, to move the cameras... Well... it is daunting, but as Nolan proved with DARK KNIGHT - the difference is stunning.

I'm going to continue to pursue this story further - to try to get some official comments, but as I was flying out of Chicago... and I was looking down at part of Nolan's Gotham... it just felt like the perfect story to post from my first flying Wifi adventure! So what do you think? Should Nolan shoot the entire next film that way?

Joshua Herdman reveals Deathly Hallows split, plot change

Several weeks ago, a not-for-profit Potter symposium (MuggleMayhem) was held in the UK, and MuggleNet's own Jamie Lawrence was present to participate in some of the events.

Actor Joshua Herdman, who plays Goyle in the Potter films, was one of several actors from the franchise who hosted a Q&A session at the event. He revealed some particularly interesting Deathly Hallows information with fans that is worth reporting.

First, Herdman said that the current plan was to split Deathly Hallows just after the trio are captured by the Snatchers and right before they are taken to Malfoy Manor. Many fans had speculated this is where the split would be, as it will provide quite a cliffhanger between films. Please note that - while this may be the current plan - the director and producers have made it clear that they could very well change where they had been thinking of splitting it if they thought a different point worked better after filming was complete.

Second, Herdman says that his character will be the one who dies instead of Jamie Waylett's character (Crabbe). This decision was made after Waylett was arrested and convicted of cannabis possession several months ago. Waylett is not expected to return for Deathly Hallows.

Guy Ritchie has signed on to direct an adaptation of the DC Comics character Lobo, who just so happens to be an alien interstellar bounty hunter. According to Variety Don Payne wrote the most recent draft of the screenplay, with Joel Silver, Akiva Goldsman and Andrew Rona set to produce.

The film will serve as Ritchie's follow-up to this Christmas' Sherlock Holmes, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law. The character first appeared in the 1983 DC comic Omega Men, written by Roger Slifer and Keith Giffen. Lobo has had several comic incarnations. In this new film, he will be a seven-foot tall, blue-skinned, indestructible and heavily muscled anti-hero who drives a pimped out motorcycle, and lands on Earth in search of four fugitives who are bent on wreaking havoc. Lobo teams with a small town teenaged girl to stop the creatures.

Warner Brothers is looking to make the film PG-13 rated. Production on Lobo is set to being early next year.

Today - and many other days as well - the metal gods known as MASTODON have been not so quietly scoring the film JONAH HEX. When I asked what it was sounding like, the only response was, "Needless to say, pretty heavy!"
